FIA Rules No Further Action in Albon-Perez FP1 Collision

Stewards have taken no further action against Alex Albon for crashing into Sergio Perez in Japanese GP practice, determining the incident resulted from a misunderstanding and a failure by Perez's team to warn him of Albon's rapid approach.

Williams driver Alex Albon will face no penalty for his collision with Sergio Perez during first practice at the Japanese Grand Prix, with stewards attributing the incident to a misunderstanding and a lack of team communication. The ruling came after an investigation into the late-session contact at Suzuka's final chicane, which spun Albon around and damaged the floor of Perez's Red Bull.
